By the Book (Grand Theft Auto V)

From Atrocious Gameplay Wiki

"By the Book" is a mission in Grand Theft Auto V, given by FIB agent Steve Haines to protagonists Michael De Santa and Trevor Philips at the Walker & Sons Warehouse, on Dutch London Street in Banning, South Los Santos, San Andreas. This mission is considered one of the most controversial missions from all time.

Why The Torture Is Useless As A Means Of Getting Information

Important note: As described in the first pointer it is one of the most controversial moment in the entire gaming history, so there's only a redeeming quality. Do not add any more redeeming qualities. Anyone who does this, will have their edits reverted.

  1. First and foremost, the torture segment it is one of the most controversial moments not only in the game, but in the entire videogaming history which something that not even the Hot Coffee from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the mission No Russian from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the infamous Atari 2600 Porn games, propaganda games (like Hong Kong 97 or Terrifying 9/11), the bootleg BMB Sega Genesis Games or even the North American Video Game Crash in 1983 would take this too far!.
  2. The objective to do in this mission is torturing an innocent man named Ferdinand Kerimov (aka Mr. K) in four disturbing ways like hitting him with a wrench (it gets even so far in where you must hit in the genitals), pulling a tooth with pliers, electrocuting and waterboarding with gasoline.
  3. If you're the first time playing the game, you will always be probably not know which is the target should be kill until Mr. K tells the complete information from the target. The target is a man with red shirt that smokes marijuana which appears in the upper left.
  4. Killing the target early can pare the torture down, but you lose the two remaining torture objectives to obtain the 100% Gold medal meaning that you must do the way intended.
  5. The segment from pulling the teeth requires to rotate the analog stick which it sometimes it can damage the analog stick. Also it can be disgusting for people with dental phobia (fear of teeth).
  6. When you're taking Mr. K to the airport, Trevor admits him that Mr. K's torture is useless as a means of getting information making the whole process useless.
  7. Unlike No Russian from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 you cannot skip the mission at all.

The Only Redeeming Quality

  1. The Japanese version the torture segments are omitted.
