Chaos 4 is one of the antagonists and boss fights in mh:awesomegames:Sonic Adventure and its remake Sonic Adventure DX. It is the third (fourth if you count Knuckles) boss fight in Sonic's story, is the second (third if you count Knuckles) boss fight in Tails' story and is the second (third if you count Sonic) boss fight in Knuckles' story.

While not as stupid as the "boss fight" against Chaos 6 with Big the Cat, and not exactly hard, some people consider him to be a slog to fight.

Why He's Chaotic (in a bad way)

1. The fight takes place in a swamp that slows Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles down and damages you if you sink too far into it making the lily pads the only safe place to stand on.
2. The water for this boss fight is weird, as unlike other waters in the game were Sonic, Tails and Knuckles sink into the bottom, they slowly sink down, almost like quicksand. So while it can damage you, you can simple jump out of it.
3. While Chaos can get rid of the lily pads by just swimming under it or doing a certain move, it dosen't matter to the the lack of threat the water gives out.
4. All of Chaos' attacks are easy to avoid.
5. It is so long and boring. Chaos 4 spends most of the time submerged in the water dragging the fight as long as possible only occasionally popping out which is the only way to hit it. Heck he even has a move where it looks like he's submerged, but nope, he just turns into 4 water orbs that home in on you.
6. Everytime Chaos 4 is hit, you (As Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles) have to wait until he assembles himself, which takes some time.
7. You have to fight the boss 3 times. Once as Sonic, once as Tails, and once as Knuckles. With each fight being the exact same with barely any differences. At least give credit to Chaos 6, they changed it up by making the platforms hazardous in Knuckles' fight, but other than that, the only difference is the character you're playing as.

Redeeming Qualities

1. The music's okay, despite it also being in the other fights with Chaos (except for Chaos 6 and Perfect Chaos).
2. The design for Chaos 4 is actuly pretty cool.
3. The arena Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles fight Chaos 4 in is pretty neat.
