Cornell (Castlevania: Lords of Shadow)

From Atrocious Gameplay Wiki

Cornell is an antagonist and boss in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. He is the ruler of the Werewolfs and was one of the three members of The Brotherhood of Light. He is the main boss of Dark Lord of Lycans, the second and final level of Chapter III, and is overall the sixteenth level of the game, is the first of the Lords of Shadow, is the main boss of Chapter III, is the fourth major boss and is overall the sixth boss of the entire game.

Sence his debut, Cornell has been widely infamous for his high difficulty and is often considered as one of the hardest bosses in the game.

Why He Sucks

  1. Cornell has a high difficulty spike, seeing as he appears early on in the game and as such, you mostly won't have much Health Jems or upgrades at that point.
  2. Cornell can do very high damage, one of which can take out literally one-thirds of health.
  3. All of Cornell's attack can be hard to block/parry block, one attack is his hammer thrust, which can come at a very fast rate.
  4. If you think that after depleting all of Cornell's health bar the fight will be over, then think again. As after that Cornell will turn into his werewolf form, starting the second phase.
  5. In this form Cornell is much faster and can do even more damage.
  6. In the final phase, you now have to destroy eight stone pillars, which can be quite tedious as Cornell will pester you though the phase and can not be harm at the point.
  7. In both forms, Cornell has a lot of HP, so this will be a very long battle.
  8. The Side Challenge for Cornell is also brutal, you have to beat him without using Light Magic, which (unless your planing on doing a No Damage Run), is easier said then done due to how much damage Cornell can do.
  9. Despite Cornell's high difficulty, he's only the sixth boss.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Both of Cornell forms have really awesome designs.
  2. Both songs are freaking awesome.
  3. Cornell himself is an interesting villain.
  4. After you beat Cornell, you acquire his ability, so at least it will be worth it.

  1. Daggers work really well agents Cornell, ecpassitly when charge with Dark Magic.
  2. Light Magic can work on the Stone Pillars.
