Driving Mission No.34: Mercedes-Benz Showdown (Gran Turismo 4)

From Atrocious Gameplay Wiki
Why would you make a mission that forces you to wait two minutes for an extremely difficult task?

Driving Mission No.34: Mercedes-Benz Showdown is the thirty fourth mission in mh:awesomegames:Gran Turismo 4. This mission became infamous by considering how difficult is to the point it can be even more harder than Speedster Trophy.

Why It Sucks

  1. The leader car Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Coupe '54 has roughly 212HP and can reach 160 mph (250 km/h) in the straight road of the track which is faster compared to other Driving Missions.
  2. Also the leader car has a gap of two minutes and as a result, you must wait two minutes every time you restart the mission which can be extremely painful, boring and frustrating.
  3. The car you use Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren '03 has average handling which requires very precise turning to avoid exiting off the track and lose precious time. However in the NTSC version improves the handling but does not reduce the difficulty.
  4. The track you must race is set in Nürburgring Nordschleife and being a long track approximately 12.944 miles (20.831 km) and dangerous and takes nine minutes to complete. Combining the average handling of the car, this deals with enormous trial-and-error so one single mistake and you must restart from the beginning.

The Only Redeeming Quality

  1. If you have beaten the rest of the Driving Missions from #30-#33, you get the Nissan R89C Race Car '89 which is a great car to end the game.
