Geeta (Pokémon Scarlet & Violet)

From Atrocious Gameplay Wiki

Note: Do not attempt to add neither the "Final Bosses" nor "Bad Final Bosses of Good Games" categories, as it is painfully obvious that everyone should know by now that Professor Turo (from Pokémon Violet) or Professor Sada (from Pokémon Scarlet) are the true final bosses of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, and Nemona is fought after Geeta. She may be the Pokémon Champion, but she's not the Final Boss.

Not as bad as Wallace, but still pretty frustrating even as a Pokemon Champion.

Geeta is a characters in both Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and boss fight in both games. She is the chairwoman of the Pokémon League in Paldea and also the Top Champion of Paldea. Geeta serves as the last (but not final) boss before the Players final fight agents Nemona.

Altho not as hated as Wallace, Geeta has been given very poor reviews by critics alike due to her "presentation" and Fr battle, and next to Cynthia from Diamond, Pearl, Platinum and if anything more in brilliant diamond and shining pearl , she is widely considered as one of the most frustrating Champions in the Pokémon series.

Why She's Not Glamorous

  1. Geeta's overall Pokémon is incredible frustrating, while having some good choices such as Espatra, Kingambit and her ace Glimmora, her other three Pokémon such as Gogoat, Veluza and Avalugg are not good choices due their weak typing (in the case with Gogoat), bad states (in the case with Avalugg) and poor move pool (in the case with Velzua) but they somehow have powerful moves against your team.
    • Additionally, one of Geeta's Pokémon is a Veluva, which had already been used by Kofu, the Water-Type Gym Leader.
  2. Most of Geeta's Pokémon have very frustrating move sets, such as Espatra having Quick Attack despite it being Special Attacker, and Veluza having Ice Fang, a move that only has 65 Based Power.
  3. Very odd Pokémon Typing, with Geeta having two Psychic-Types.
  4. Extremely missed opportunities: The order of Geeta's Pokémon are Espatra, Gogoat, Veluza, Avalugg, Kingambit and finally Glimmora, however, Getta's order of team and choice of Ace Pokémon could have been making Glimmora the first Pokémon she sends out first and then make not only making Kingambit Getta's new Ace, but also making him the last Pokémon, and for these reasons.
    • In the case with making Glimmora the first Pokémon Geeta sends out, its ability Toxic Debris sends out Toxic Spikes for every damage that he takes that will give the Pokémon the Poison Status (even after all of its health is depleted), it could have made it so that if or when the Player swaps Pokémon, it will have the Poison Status.
    • In the vase with making Kingambit Getta's Ace Pokémon, as well as the final Pokémon she sends out, but Kingambit's ability Supreme Overload increases Kingambit's Attack State for every Pokémon prior to him defeated, it would have made Kingambit EXTREMELY powerful.
    • Dondozo or Palafin, Arboliva, and Gholdengo are perfect Pokemon to make a well balanced team instead of Veluza, Gogoat, and Avalugg.
  5. Geeta cheats like a sore loser when it comes to the Pokémon weaknesses, with half of her team being weak to Fire (in the case with Gogoat, Avalugg and Kingambit) and half her team being weak to Bug (in the case with Espatra, Gogoat and Veluza) but she somehow teaches moves that can kill fire and bug Pokemon in return.
  6. Overall, due to Geeta's frustrating team, she feels more or less like a Postgame Boss, and keep in mind, Getta is suppose to be the Champion.
  7. If you have Type advantage Pokemon like for example Meowscarada, Oinkologne (with super effective moves), Spidops, Beartic, Raichu and Espeon you will likely get screwed over with geeta's team due to them having super effective moves in return.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Thankfully her fight is better than Wallace and Cynthia
  2. Geeta herself is a likable character.
  3. Getta's boss theme is excellent.
  4. The final fight against Nemona after Geeta is a major improvement over Geeta.
  5. Thankfully if you lose to her unlike other Pokemon games you don't have to fight the elite 4 again considering that the elite 4 in Scarlet and Violet is already very frustrating you can fight her again anytime you want so you can grind your team and comeback to her when you're ready.
