Jigglypuff's Shield Break (Super Smash Bros.)

From Atrocious Gameplay Wiki

NOTE: Don't change "It" or "its" for "he/she" or "his/her", as Jigglypuffs have no sexual dimorphism and referring to it as female is very common.

Jigglypuff's Shield Break is a mechanic for Jigglypuff in the Super Smash Bros. series.

And it was at this moment Jigglypuff knew... it messed up.

Why It Intentionally Sucks

  1. If Jigglypuff's Shield is broken, it flies up to the sky as fast as the speed of light, and if nothing is blocking the way, the Jigglypuff player gets a cheap KO.
  2. Not only that, but that makes it a bad idea to shield when it comes to sheilding strong attacks like King Dedede's Fully Charged Jet Hammer or Forward Smash, Ganondorf's Warlock Punch, Byleth's Aymr, and Marth/Lucina's Fully Charged Shield Breaker, some professional shield-breaking moves.
  3. None of Smash's other characters had this problem, so it makes no sense for this problem to be exclusive to Jigglypuff.
  4. Even if something is blocking the way, its dizzy animation is rather dumb. It looks up and down and makes a priceless face.
  5. Also, it takes a long time for you to get back up from getting dizzy, and it leaves you wide open to attacks.
  6. This also gave Jigglypuff some poor results in tournaments or in Classic Mode.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. If you're fighting a Jigglypuff CPU, the mechanic can make it easy to defeat them.
  2. It serves as an effective reminder to why Jigglypuff is the "balloon" Pokémon, which can somehow be humorous.

Trivia

  • In Super Smash Bros. 64, its Star KO could be heard if its shield breaks, but it is low pitched.
