Well, you'd be damned.

Sir Lancelot is the third boss in Sonic and the Black Knight & is fought as Sonic. He can first be fought after clearing the "Reach the Lady of the Lake" mission in Deep Woods, and again, as an optional boss, after defeating the Dark Queen as Lancelot Returns. Players consider him the one of the most infuriating bosses in the Sonic series.

Why He Sucks

  1. One of those pansy-first-savage-second bosses: Tricks you for an easy fight, then proceeds to make mincemeat out of you in a minute afterwards.
  2. An AI so brutal, it can give fighting game bosses a run for their money.
  3. Jump & he'll anti-air you just like in fighting games.
  4. He evades your attacks if you aim for a counter-attack. Sometimes, he'll punish you with Chaos Blast.
  5. The clash with him is way too fast, requiring snake reflexes to succeed.
  6. Speaking of Chaos Blast, he loves abusing that move.
  7. He also spams Chaos Spear, especially in the second and third phases, making him something of an equivalent of zoning fighters.
  8. In the end of the third phase, after using Chaos Spears, he will use Chaos Control if you have enough of your shield barrier.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The stellar battle theme that he shares with other knights (besides regular Lancelot) like Sir Gawain and Sir Percival.
  2. His battle is optional so you don't need to fight him unless you want to.
  3. If you beat him, you will unlock Sir Galahad (Silver) only in multiplayer mode.
