"Imagine three dimensional, except badly designed, Super Metroid, where you can't miss a single Missile Tank, and you have this level, only the Missile Tank shoots back." ― Lewis, BrainScratch Commentaries

Lost Impact is a stage in mh:crappygames:Shadow the Hedgehog. Lost Impact is one of the five fifth stages and can be reached by completing the Hero mission of Mad Matrix located on the Semi-Hero route or the Hero mission of Death Ruins located on the Pure Hero route. It is the second Pure Hero level, and is the only level in the game without a Dark mission.

Along with Central City, and The Doom, Lost Impact is hated for its confusing design, and tedious length, especially in regards to the Hero mission.

Why It's Lost

  1. The layout is a confusing maze like in The Doom, making it easy to get lost.
    • Even worse, unlike The Doom, there is no map.
  2. Like in The Doom, the elevators will end up slowing the progress down.
  3. The Hero mission is very tedious due to the level's layout, and the fact that Shadow has to kill every single Artificial Chaos in the level, which can take almost 20 minutes on your first playthrough.
  4. Some of the Artificial Chaos are hiding in the shadows, and a majority of them are located on the rails where Shadow has to use the Gun Lift, which cannot stop or slow down while Shadow is using it.
  5. The Normal mission, while nowhere near as painful as the Hero mission, is somewhat obtuse due to the goal ring's location.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Unlike in The Doom, the G.U.N. soldiers are friendly to Shadow and will sometimes assist in taking down Artificial Chaos.
  2. The cutscene before this level is pretty amusing: "A Chaos Emerald? You've gotta be kidding me, guys! This is like taking candy from a baby, which is fine by me."
