Meteor Herd is a stage in the Hero Story of Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. It is Knuckles' fifth and final level and overall the fourteenth stage in the Hero Story.

Along with Mad Space, Eternal Engine, and Crazy Gadget (the first two of which are Rouge and Tails' last stages respectively, while the third one is Sonic's penultimate stage), Meteor Herd is the most hated level in the game for its confusing and difficult layout.

Why It Sucks

  1. The stage is extremely large and confusing, making it very easy to get lost. Granted, this is the Hero Story's final treasure hunting stage, but still.
  2. The meteors can knock you down at the top of the stage and they can get annoying.
  3. Getting to the molten lava area is kinda tricky, as you need to hit a big rock into a certain door but the developers never made the strategy on what door you need to break open.
  4. The big rocks don't respawn immediately, meaning if it doesn't hit the door you wanted it to hit, you need to go a tad bit further away from where the big rock spawned at in order for it to respawn.
  5. If an emerald piece is located inside a cage, you need to do a Spiral Upper in order to get it, but you also need to be in a specific place in order to do a Spiral Upper.
  6. Some of the hint televisions can be hard to find.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The music is pretty great.
  2. Hard mode places all 3 emerald pieces in a specific location that don't change so that you can merely memorize where they are for an easy A rank.
  3. You can get the Sunglasses upgrade here.
  4. Going all the way to the top and drilling all the way down is quite fun.

Tips

  • If you can't find a Master Emerald piece, then lose a life so you can both keep the pieces you got AND try and get an emerald piece that's closer.
  • Be sure to have lots of lives here, cause you really don't want a Game Over here.
