Ness and Lucas's 10 Additional Frames After Being Released From a Grab (Super Smash Bros. Brawl)

From Atrocious Gameplay Wiki
Poor Ness/Lucas...

Ness's and Lucas's 10 extra grab release frames is an oversight in Super Smash Bros. Brawl that makes Ness and Lucas stay in the state where they are released from a grab for 10 more extra frames than all the other characters. This oversight is one of the main reasons why Ness and Lucas are so low on Brawl's current tier list.

Why It Sucks

  1. Ness and Lucas couldn't act out as fast after being grab released, which made combos against them easier to set up.
  2. This oversight made some matchups unwinnable for them, as these characters can grab release Ness and Lucas INDEFINITELY! These characters are Marth, Snake, Donkey Kong, and Sheik.
  3. None of Brawl's other characters have this issue, so it makes no sense for this problem to be exclusive to Ness and Lucas.
  4. This also made these two characters get poor tournament results in Brawl's competitive life span due to no one wanting to main these two.

The Only Redeeming Quality

  1. Future Smash games removed the 10 extra grab release frames, thus giving the PK Kids better tournament results and better matchups.
