Point Of No Return is a coming trope in video games

Meaning

In the world of video games, there are final levels/bosses that, once entered, can not be return until it is cleared, that is the definition of Point Of No Return.

Why This Trope Sucks

  1. It means that the Player only has one chance to fully 100% the game file.
  2. In most cases, the player is basically stuck in the final level/boss.

Games With Theses Examples

  1. Okami: If the Player enters the Art of Yamato, they can not leave the stage, collect the rest of the heart/sun peices and can not do any optional side-quest.
  2. Luigi's Mansion 3: If the Player enters the room after the penultimate boss against Helen Gravy, then they can not leave and coloect the rest of the hidden colored gems.
  3. The Legend of Zelda Skyword Sword: If the Player enters the area were Demise is, then they can not leave and colloect the rest of the Heart Pieces and ect.
  4. Darksiders: In the first two Darksider games, should the Player enter the area were the final boss is, then they can not return to the main game, and in Darksiders III, if the Player enters the area were Pride is, then they can not fight any of the optional bosses.
  5. Persona 5: If the Player enters the final boss, they can not go back to the hub world.
  6. Kingdom Hearts II: Once the Player enters the final segments of The World Of Nothing, then they can not leave.
