Stalfos (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time)

From Atrocious Gameplay Wiki
If you all though Darknuts/Iron Knuckles are bad, get a load of these bastards.

Note: This Articular will primary talk about the Stalfos in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

The Stalfos are enemies in The Legend of Zelda series, they are skeletons in armor that wield a sword and shield, they are most coming seen as enemies in the Zelda series, but can also be mini-bosses.

While the Stalfos are often considered manageable in most (if not all) of the Zelda games, the Ocarina of Time and its remake versions have been infamous for their quilts, and are often considered as the most difficult enemies in the game.

Why They Suck

  1. Unlike most enemies in the game, Stalfos have shields, meaning that they can block your attacks and can only be attack when their guard is down.
  2. The Stalfos are huge difficulty-spike enemies.
  3. In some cased, you fight not one, but two Stalfos, making the battles very cluttered and tedious.
  4. The Stalfos can do a lot of damage, one example is the Jump Slash, not only is this attack hard to avoid as well as be difficult to block, but it can take TWO HEARTS of damage.
    1. On that topic, the Stalfos LOVES to on occasion spam the Jump Slash like crazy.
  5. In the Master Quest difficulty exclusive in the Gamecube and the 3DS remake versions, The Stalfos are in every Adult Link dungeon.
  6. The Stalfos have quite a bit of health, even for mid-boss standereds.
  7. Despite the Stalfos' difficulty, they are first encountered in the Forest Temple, the first dungeon in the Adult Link side, and the fourth out of nine dungeons in this game.
    1. At this point in the game, you may only have gathered Heart Pieces from the bosses, then you will most likely have six hearts when encountering them, so the Stalfos, if they so happen to spam the Jump Slash, can knock you out in three hits.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The Stalfos have really cool and wicked designs.
  2. The stander Mini-boss music is still quite good.
  3. The Biggoron's Sword is very useful against them considering how much damage it does on almost all enemies and bosses and its usefulness until the 2nd part of the final boss battle.

  1. To have an easier time with the Stalfos, bring Deku-Nuts, as they can freeze the Stalfos in place, along you to get clean hits on them.
