Timed Convoy (Test Drive Unlimited 2)

From Atrocious Gameplay Wiki
How could you drive even the fastest cars with congested traffic on a strict time limit?

Timed Convoy is a game mode in Test Drive Unlimited 2 as part of the Exploration Pack DLC.

The goal has the same rules from the original Convoy only that you must deliver the car in time without crashing.

Why it Sucks

  1. The cars you're forced to drive are really prone to spinning out and sometimes it suffers oversteering, making them very hard to control, especially in faster cars like the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, the Dodge Viper SRT-10 Hawaii Police and the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano China Edition.
  2. Sometimes the cars steer itself causing you to suffer cheap crashes.
  3. The traffic it can be congested even in highways which causes you to crash into traffic and lose precious time.
  4. Some timed convoys has no shortcuts since it requires extremely little to no room for error. Commit a single mistake and you're unable to deliver the car in time.
  5. Doing those missions in rain weather is nearly impossible due to the lack of grip.
  6. Even worse, some timed convoys are harder such as the aforementioned Bugatti Veyron Super Sport which only grants $19,000. Some of them has low money payout even compared to the high money payouts in Extreme Convoy that gives $50,000 such as the Koenigsegg CCXR Edition and the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series and those convoys are easier (if you drive extremely careful) than those harder missions.
  7. Tight time limits.
  8. Like the original missions, sometimes if you decide to give up by rage quitting the mission, you must wait several days just to try again said mission you quitted.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. At least, completing a Timed Convoy or a Extreme Convoy reveals the location of the optional junkyard chassis cars such as the Lancia Stratos Group B and the Dodge Charger R/T 1969.
  2. These missions are optional.
