Zeus, also known as Mr. Z, is an antagonist in the World Heroes series, the final boss and main villain of World Heroes 2 Jet & "sub-boss" of its sequel World Heroes Perfect, also playable in both through codes & the like.

Albeit not as legendary as some of his peers, he should be thanks to his agonizing & rage-inducing attributes.

Why He Sucks

  1. Despite his giant size, he's mobile enough to chain attacks at the drop of a hat, giving you no room to breathe.
  2. Also because of his size, unless you're Hanzou or Fuuma who can both double jump, you can't jump over him for safety or for an aerial attack as you'll get eviscerated.
  3. Enormous hitbox in his moves with just as much priority & range.
  4. Cruel spike in difficulty. You face his henchmen to see if you're strong enough for him: The vanilla Jack & the braindead Ryofu. These two were complete breathers after the beast that was Hanzou, then you face him... Really makes you wonder why he views strength above all else.
  5. The screen flashes like mad by the stormy weather that can hurt your eyes a bunch, making it hard to see what you're doing. So much for the epileptics...
  6. Mountainous damage output. He can kill you with 4 regular hits alone, his special moves deal about 40 to 80% and his throws are just as painful, most of them having multi-hit stunlock for good measure.
  7. His specials are stupid hard to dodge on top of reason #6. Giga Smasher covers his body like a shield, perfect if you're pestering him too much, also a good camping strategy for him. Atomic Heat has such a wide hitbox it borders on screen-filler that deals quite the chip damage alone. Megaton Punch is a multi-hit punch doubling as a damaging shield as well. This would fine and dandy if they were super moves, but 2 Jet doesn't have those and Perfect didn't think about that idea either. He just knows their easy inputs at heart.
  8. Bloodthirsty AI prone to special-spamming and input-reading.
  9. In 2 Jet, you need a certain amount of HP against him to access one of 3 endings: Over 75%, below 25% or somewhere in-between.
  10. Made even more busted in Perfect, complete with more mobility, identical moveset and A SUPER MEGATON PUNCH as a super move.
  11. Lackluster design. He's just a hybrid of Raoh & Souther from Fist of the North Star, even ripping off some of their moves.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Epic theme songs.
  2. Playable through codes in both games, providing truckloads of broken fun, especially against the vicious CPU at times.
  3. In Perfect, you only face him for a single round before Neo Dio suddenly kills him for the true final battle, regardless if you won or not.
  4. In World Heroes Anthology, the screen flashing is omitted in 2 Jet, allowing you to see what's happening at all times.
  5. Also on the Anthology, he's selectable from the start of its rendition of Perfect in all his busted glory.
  6. Fans of FOTNS may get a kick out of his design, even better if they're also WH fans.
  7. Unlike most giant fighting game bosses, he's throwable.
  8. His defeat in both games is gloriously satisfying.
